Team

The Team section is where you invite people to your workspace, give them the right level of access, and manage HR records — payroll, attendance, salary changes, and reviews.

Every member belongs to an access group, which is a named bundle of 30+ permissions covering tasks, projects, money, content, and more.

Step-by-step

  1. 1
    Invite a teammate

From the sidebar click Team → Add Employee. Enter their name, email, role (Admin / Employee / Client), and pick an access group. They get an email with a link to set their password.

  2. 2
    Set up access groups

Settings → Access groups. Create groups like 'Project manager', 'Designer', 'Accountant' — each with the permission toggles your team needs. Reuse a group across many users.

  3. 3
    Add HR details

Open the employee detail → HR tab. Enter joining date, salary, payroll cycle, leave allowance, and bank details. Salary changes are version-tracked so payroll always uses the right rate for each month.

  4. 4
    Record attendance

Employees clock in from the Attendance widget on their dashboard. Admins can also add or correct entries manually from the employee detail.

  5. 5
    Run payroll

Payrolls auto-generate on the 1st of each month for the previous month. Open Payroll, review the line items per employee (base + bonuses − deductions − tax), and mark each as paid when transferred.

  6. 6
    Deactivate a teammate

On the employee detail click Deactivate. Their account stops being able to log in but historical tasks, time logs, and payroll records are preserved.

Tips

  • Start with one or two broad access groups and split them only when you actually need to. Too many groups becomes a maintenance burden.
  • If your plan has a seat limit, deactivating frees up a seat for a new hire without losing the old user's history.
  • Owners always have full access — you can't lock yourself out by misconfiguring a group.

Admin configuration

  • Access groups → `employeesView`, `employeesAdd`, `employeesEdit` control who can manage other team members.
  • Plan → `maxUsers` caps how many active employees a company can have.
  • Settings → Defaults → Default access group sets which group new invites land in.
